Listening to music triggers the release of several neurochemicals that play a role in brain function and mental health.
It releases:
> Opioids – the body’s natural pain killers
>Dopamine – a chemical associated with pleasures like sex, chocolate, laughter
> Serotonin – regulating your mood naturally so you feel happier and more calm, it also helps you sleep soundly
> Oxytocin – dubbed as the “cuddle hormone” or “love drug” because of its role in reproduction and social bonding, it’s a chemical that fosters the ability to connect to others
Your brain is literally changing while you listen to music.
